My name is Shawn Sahara. I’m a Chicago native, born and raised. As a kid my inspirations were from watching sci-fi movies in the 90’s. I developed a passion for moving images and pursed my career in media. I enrolled in the 3D animation and Visual Effects program at Vancouver Film School where I began to develop a special interest and talent for Digital Compositing. I take live action shots and elements such as effects footage or CG and I layer them together to create the illusion of reality. Compositing can be challenging because artists have to constantly learn, develop pipelines and adapt to whatever changes need to be made on a shot in a short amount of time. But overcoming the challenges can be very rewarding. From my experience in post production, working with a team of talented artists on strict deadline schedules motivates me to push my work even harder. I consider myself to be a very creative, adaptable artist always looking to train my eye for something new. I have experience in motion capture, motion design, commercial and film roto/paint & compositing. I’ve worked mostly in Nuke and other creative packages.
